Integrated home systems can be subdivided in different ways. A first way is according to whether the intelligence of the system is housed in one component or in all components. They are called centralised or decentralised systems respectively. However, do not get confused. This classification says nothing about the location of the integrated home system components. In a centralised intelligence system, the components may be located decentrally. In a decentralised intelligence system, the components can be located centrally if desired.
