4-Understanding power quality measurement & fault disturbances by David Mueller

The tutorial will provide examples of Power Quality measurement results, and how to evaluate them.  Attendees will understand the various types of measurements: trends, histograms, waveforms and see many examples of each.
Attendees will also see waveforms of all types of different phenomenon:
-         Harmonics.
-         Flicker.
-         Transformer energizing.
-         Motor starting.
-         Ferro resonance.
-         Utility system faults.
-         Voltage sags.
-         Insulation failure.
-         Capacitor switching transients.
-         Resonance, etc.
The waveform characteristics will be explored, with explanations of their cause.
The tutorial will utilize case histories and explore the meaning of many of the waveforms and measurements of Power Quality.

During a special part of the tutorial attendees are invited to bring their own waveforms for discussion on a computer flash drive or CD-ROM.
