The research in the area of Power Quality at Cairo University focuses broadly on the following issues: Harmonics, voltage disturbances, EMC and earthing. CAPSCU is the Center for Advancement of Post-Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering Sciences at Cairo University. CAPSCU's main objectives focus on supporting post-graduate studies and research programmess taking place in the Faculty of Engineering-Cairo University (FOE), especially those related to industrial applications. CAPSCU has a tradition of organising dissemination on power quality problems, causes and solutions through seminars, trade fairs, trade press campaigns or any other means deemed suitable by the national Power Quality Partnership and setting up e-learning programmes leading to certification, using the LEONARDO training kit. These actvities are co-ordinated by Dr Ahmed Zobaa.
