Can this ugly duckling turn into a swan?

The Hummer is also, in the opinion of this writer, ugly. But their designers and constructors are at least able to read the environmental writing on the wall. They have come up with a concept that might be even uglier than before but is truly adapted to what the environment requires. It is called Hummer O2 a fuel-cell powered vehicle with hydraulic drive and algae-filled body panels that convert CO2 to oxygen

It was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show recently were there was also entries from Volkswagen (their nanospyder) and several others that had to meet the criteria that the car should be 100% recyclable and a life-span of 60 months. None of the entries seem very attractive from an aesthetic point of view however, maybe with the exception of the Mercedes
