Sinners and saints
By Hans Nilsson / Published on Wed, 2007-02-21 08:00The moral aspect of the climate issue is quite obvious and we probably will need idols, both bad and good, to be able to visualise what needs to be done. But let us still hope that we will primarily be guided by rational thinking in a way that includes moral.
The first jet-set of sinners have presented themselves. They may be idols in some respect but hardly when climate and travelling is concerned, Tom Cruise, the Beckham family and others.
There is however an opposite crowd, led by a bishop, as would be appropriate for the saints. It is interesting that these latter seem to be the tip of the iceberg since a study has shown that a significant proportion of the British will reduce their air-travel because of concern for the climate.
