Are the LEDs coming our way?
By Hans Nilsson / Published on Thu, 2007-07-05 07:00LED (Light Emitting Diode) applications have so far looked rather odd when they have been advertised as replacements for lightbulbs. Now, there is an application with a replacement product for light tubes that also look like a tube.
As with so many other new products, they are tremendously expensive and in this case a tube will cost you 100-110€ a piece. However, if the technology works, that price will surely drop fast.

using existing infrastructure
By Hans De Keulenaer / Published on Sun, 2007-07-08 9:25This is very promising, since using this new technology will be much less disruptive for consumers.
In a similar vein, the proposed ban on incandescent lighting would be much more digestible/feasible if it wouldn't mean replacing a wide variety of lighting aramtures currently in use.
