A Series of Training Guides for Electrical Designers and Architects
Summary:
Leonardo ENERGY has launched a new online resource concerning the automation of modern homes for electrical contractors and educational bodies.
Main text:

Home automation is attractive to many people for a variety of reasons. For some, it is simply a matter of convenience, labour-saving equipment such as motorised curtains, enhanced security or multimedia entertainment systems, for example. For others, such as the elderly, vulnerable and less able, it can be the key to maintaining an independent lifestyle through the use of telemedicine and remote monitoring and support services. Although the requirements are very different, the technologies employed to meet them are the same and are available now.

This series of guides covers the current range of integrated home systems, providing an impartial overview, and offers implementation information for designers and architects. It aims to suggest the best practice solutions for an integrated home while warning against over-reliance on proprietary systems, which may not be compatible in the future.
