Ecodesign EuP Process
By Sergio Ferreira / Published on Mon, 2009-02-16 09:30The Ecodesign EuP Directive is currently one of the most powerful instruments working towards energy efficiency in Europe. Adopted in 2005, it has since opened the way for 19 preparatory studies that are currently at different stages of preparation. Each of these studies analyses one product group and proposes implementing measures aimed at an efficiency improvement.
ECEEE has designed a webpage to follow this process in a lean way. The chart above illustrates the process that follows the conclusion of the preparatory study, transforming a proposed implementing measure into a regulation. On "Further links" you find a page that includes the chart and a list of the preparatory studies.
A third round of preparatory studies has been recently proposed by the European Commission covering 10 more product groups.
