Kirschen, Daniel
By Hans De Keulenaer / Published on Wed, 2006-12-06 21:38Daniel Kirschen received his Electrical and Mechanical Engineer's degree from the Free University of Brussels in Belgium and his Master's and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked on the development of software for utility control centres for Control Data Corporation and Siemens. Since 1994 he has been at The University of Manchester (previously UMIST) where he is Professor of Electrical Energy Systems and head of the electrical energy and power systems group. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and the IET as well as a member of Sigma Xi.
