Laboratory of Distributed Generation

By P Gburczyk et al

In the paper major laboratory equipment is described: photovoltaics, microturbine, fuel cell, battery energy storage, together with the configuration of the laboratory network facilitating studies of characteristics of those energy sources and problems of cooperation of distributed generators with electrical power network. For integration of distributed sources into the power system it is necessary to properly control their operation. In this regard in the laboratory the advanced IT communication structure was applied taking advantage of PowerDNA system enabling both measurement of electrical quantities in the network and control of operation of distributed generators by means of single central control and monitoring system or several local systems supervised by central one. That structure provides capability of testing different algorithms managing operation of distributed generators.
