In a press release, the manufacturer claims that this LED lamp 'imitates the behaviour of an incandescent halogen lamp and hence will not cause any problems when replacing incandescent halogen lamps with it'.
Now, first of all, regular visitors to this site will notice very little resemblance of these current curves to the usual 'behaviour' of halogen lamps, which represent pure ohmic loads.
Next, it is not the current curve – or at least not only this – that impairs the function of electronic converters, as mentioned before. It is the low relative load that disturbs their function. It also occurs with halogen lamps when there are too few connected, or they are too weak.
