Power quality between necessity and tradition in master courses curricula of Romanian electrical engineering faculties

The paper reviews the necessity for power quality study matter in curricula of university courses as a request of the employers of the future specialists in area of power delivery or/and consumption. The specific of Romanian power environment asks nowadays for a certain expertise in stating the causes of power perturbations in power grids, as well as in a valuable quantification of their effects. The mitigation methods are not efficient without correct monitoring methods and instruments. All these aspects are approached in different percentages in all electrical/power departments of master classes of traditional Romanian technical universities. An important part of the competencies achieved during these classes consists in computer assisted laboratory works, as is exemplified bellow.
