Schipman, Kurt
By Hans De Keulenaer / Published on Mon, 2007-01-08 17:22Kurt Schipman received his M.Sc. degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) in 1993 and his Ph.D. degree from Staffordshire University (U.K.) in 1997. His Ph.D. research focused on the development of control algorithms for active filters for HVDC applications. Since 1997 he has worked with ABB n.v. Power Quality Products (Belgium), an ABB center of excellence for Low Voltage Network Quality products. In an R&D capacity his research was principally directed towards the development of power electronics based compensation equipment in the field of harmonic filtering and fast reactive power compensation. Now, he is in a Marketing capacity responsible for active filtering products.
