Applied policy measures for energy savings in end-use sectors in EU-countries: what is best?

Past and present policy measures to stimulate energy savings in the household sector in EU-15 countries are analysed as to their type (regulatory, financial, information, etc.), their coverage of different types of energy use and their estimated impact on energy consumption. Moreover, the matching of national and EU-based policy measures is looked at. Finally, a number of innovative policy measures are presented. This analysis comprises over 310 policy measures presently available for the residential sector in the MURE-database sponsored by the European Commission.

A one-stop information source on energy technology

Since 1987, the Energy Technology Data Exchange has provided access to a wide range of references on energy technology, use, environment and climate issues, policy, economic factors, alternative energy and conservation. At present, 4 million references are available through the internet, including an advanced search facility. Many recent reports are available in full text. The database has a world-wide scope, and contains references in multiple languages.

Caddet

The CADDET database of over 1,500 energy efficiency and renewable energy case studies was developed during 1988 and 2005.  It is no longer maintained, but some material, such as the Canadian contribution, remains available online. Its merit is verification of projects after implementation, and sometimes during the project life.
