Welcome to Leonardo ENERGY

A global community for sustainable energy professionals

The Leonardo Energy initiative (LE) unites professionals from all over the world dedicated to electrical power and sustainable energy.

LE is active in five major domains: energy efficiency, renewable energy systems, power quality, electrical safety, and the home of the future.

An education and training platform

LE provides education, training, and the comprehensive exchange of expertise.

The LE Academy provides entire e-learning programmes leading to exams and certification. LE also organizes webinars highlighting one particular subject or aspect. In addition, the LE website includes a library containing everything from whitepapers aimed at the generalist to technical application notes. One particularly popular feature of the site is the blogs that provide additional context to various energy topics.

All of these tools and documents are free and easily accessible.

The European Copper Institute

Leonardo ENERGY is managed by the international Electricity & Energy team of experts at the European Copper Institute (ECI). They operate from eleven different offices in various European locations.

LE was established from growing understanding that copper is essential in achieving sustainability. It is 100% recyclable and it has very high conductivity. The construction of renewable energy systems and the manufacturing of energy efficient motors, transformers, and cables are highly dependent upon these favourable attributes of copper. The principal aim of LE is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy economy.

In partnership with various stakeholders

Most LE campaigns are carried out in partnership with other stakeholders. LE has assembled a group of more than 170 leading academic and industry partners that are closely involved in the programme.

A platform to meet and exchange expertise

The LE platform brings together various key players in the energy market. Registered users include people from manufacturing, design, end-use, regulatory agencies, NGOs, trade press, universities, and research institutes. We offer them communication channels on the LE website as well as on various Internet social networks where they exchange expertise, learn, and share their vision.

We hope the Leonardo ENERGY initiative meets your expectations, and look forward to your comments and suggestions on how to improve.
