Workshop on energy efficient motor driven systems

On April 2004, ECI, in conjunction with Fraunhofer, KULeuven and University of Coimbra, organised an event to present the report on High Efficiency Motor Systems.

High efficiency motor systems could save Europe 200 billion kWh of electricity consumption, reduce CO2 emissions by 100 million tonnes per year, reduce fuel imports for Europe by 6% and save industry over 20 billion euro per year in operating costs.

  • Introduction; Hans De Keulenaer, European Copper Institute

  • Motor programmes in the EU; Vincent Berrutto, European Commission

  • Benefits of energy conservation in motor driven systems; Germana Canzi, WWF

  • Efficiency in motor driven systems; Ronnie Belmans, KULeuven

  • Barriers to efficiency and solutions & Compressed Air campaign - Germany; Peter Radgen, Fraunhofer - ISI

  • Polish efficient motor campaign; Piotr Jurasz, Polish Copper Promotion Centre

  • Perspectives from Australia; Özdemir Göl, University of South Australia

  • Conclusions; Hans De Keulenaer, European Copper Institute
